Peak Architects were invited to produce designs for the conversion of a pre-cast concrete 1930’s holiday cottage into an eco-home. Our approach was to retain the existing structure and overclad and insulate the existing building to enhance the thermal performance of the building.
In-conjunction with this approach a lightweight timber framed extension cantilevering from the existing structure was proposed.
The clients objective was to create an eco-home and Peak Architects proposed the following sustainable aspects in order to achieve the brief:
High Levels of insulation including triple glazing
Whole House ventilation with a heat recovery system
