The client owned a detached bungalow in the corner of a large 1acre site within the village boundary in Monk Fryston. Peak Architects prepared a master planning report to support the plot of land known as ‘Greenacres’ to be adopted within Monk Fryston’s Land Allocations plan through Selby District Councils ‘2013 Strategic Land Availability Assessment’.
The proposal delivered 22 residential units; 7 of which were proposed to be single storey senior living units. A series of external consultants were appointed to undertake specific studies relating to ecology and landscape; these complimented the urban design assessment of the site (historical context, highways, urban form & materiality) which were used to inform the emerging masterplan.
The masterplan sort to create a hierarchy of roads and house types within a layout that respond to these studies to provide an exemplar masterplan to deliver housing in Monk Fryston.
