Peak District Planning Awards Success.

We are delighted that Peak Architects picked up two awards last night at the 'Peak District Planning Awards'. We were very fortunate to win in the best non-residential category for our Chatsworth Stickyard Project and win a commendation in the same category for our Chatsworth Birdhide Project.

Peak Architects attended their first Sheffield Design awards last night at the Trafalgar Works in Sheffield. What a fantastic night we had with Peak Architects 'Chatsworth Birdhide Project' being highly commended in the Small projects Category and winning 'The Peoples Choice Award'.

Peak Architects contemporary extension to a traditional gritstone residence in the Peak District National Park has recently been completed.

Peak Park 'Glasshouse'

The scheme in the Peak Park provides a contemporary glazed pavilion linking a former vicarage to an outbuilding; the structure is a series of thin steel fins which have been designed to cantilever over the corner to provide a frameless glazed corner.

The 'Fish' Pavilion

We are delighted to show one of Peak Architects projects the 'fish pavilion'. Working closely with the main contractor Branden Davison from Beau Vale Construction we developed this lightweight oak framed extension for a garden extension within the Peak District National Park.

We managed to visit the cowshed today and it was great to see the building beginning to emerge from its scaffolding shroud and really begin to reveal its character and charm.

Chatsworth Estate’s ‘organic’ bird hide takes young twitchers into the woods

Peak Architects has designed a beautiful woodland bird hide on the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire. Sited on the edge of a copse of trees adjacent to the Children’s Farmyard, allowing young bird watchers to feel part of the woodland habitat, the hide has a cedar shingle-clad exterior that will slowly turn to a metallic grey, with a birch ply lining.

Peak Architects in-conjunction with Primesite UK, the Sheffield-based property developer, has submitted a planning application to return the former Wake Smith solicitors offices on Clarkehouse Road, Sheffield to their former role as family homes.

Hathersage-based Peak Architects has added Petra Schwarczova to its team as part of its ongoing expansion programme. Petra was the winner of the CIAT Award for Outstanding Graduating Student in Architectural Technology; recieved a CIAT commendation for excellence in architectural technology and graduated with First Class Honours from Sheffield Hallam University. Peak Architects director, Paul Holden, speaks highly of his latest recruit: “Petra was a much-sought after graduate so we are thrilled she has chosen to join Peak Architects; the ability to attract skilled staff of Petra’s calibre is central to our approach and reflects on our growing reputation across the Peak Park and Sheffield City Region.” Peak Architects has recently been short-listed for two national architecture prizes, the RICS Awards and the Building Design Architect of the Year Awards.
