Peak Architects gained planning consent from the Peak District National Park Authority to build a new, high-quality, 3 star 60 bed hotel on the site of the former Rising Sun pub near Bamford. Our team went to great lengths to design the three storey hotel to be sensitive to its surroundings, in terms of materiality; built form and architectural fenestration.
The development, which incorporates a restaurant open to the public, sought to regenerate this derelict site which has been vacant since the Rising Sun Pub closed following years of financial difficulty. The scheme is fully accessible providing car parking, electrical vehicle charging points and cycle parking spaces.
The Bike & Boot Hotel is a new leisure-orientated hotel brand for the 21st Century that directly and innovatively addresses the changing UK hospitality offer in a way that no other operator is presently doing. The rooms have a design-led feel with purpose designed entertainment, designed to appeal to anyone enjoying the outdoor activities that the Peak District has to offer.
