Peak Architects are seeking a Senior Architect / Senior Architectural Technologist to join our team in Sheffield.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a confident job runner with a proven track record of managing projects from concept through to completion. You will also take a lead role in developing and mentoring junior staff and Architects to support their growth and the overall capability of the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit team, wants to have a direct impact on projects and practice direction, and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple projects across RIBA Stages 0–7, ensuring successful delivery to time, quality, and budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Mentor, support, and develop junior team members and Architects, helping them build leadership and delivery skills.
  • Develop and produce high-quality technical and construction packages using Revit.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of planning, tender, and construction documentation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of practice standards, workflows, and quality assurance processes.
  • Actively participate in team and client meetings, design reviews, and contribute to practice-wide knowledge sharing.
  • Carry out site visits, and inspections.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Architect (ARB/RIBA) or MCIAT-qualified Architectural Technologist
  • Strong job running experience, within a UK-based architectural practice.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members or managing small teams.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent technical knowledge, particularly of Building Regulations, construction methods, and detailing.
  • Proficiency in Revit, with a solid understanding of BIM workflows.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
  • Strong organisational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a small or medium-sized practice.
  • Knowledge of NBS Chorus or other specification writing tools.
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and low-energy construction.
