Peak Architects was commissioned to prepare designs for a new sub-terranean eco home on land at the former Chestnut Centre Wildlife Park, near Chapel-en-le- Frith, in the Peak District National Park.
The new dwelling has been designed to sit discreetly within the contours of the existing site and will benefit from a fabric first approach to energy consumption, highly insulated and sustainability credentials such as ground source heat pumps and whole house ventilation.
The scheme will sit alongside a separate application to convert and restore the existing historic buildings into residential properties.
